Andrew Clancey is an actor, cellist, and teaching artist based in Chicago. Since receiving his BA in Theatre Arts in 2011, he has primarily been performing on stage both in Iowa and the Chicagoland area. He’s performed with fantastic theater companies, such as Artemisia, A Chicago Theatre, Oil Lamp Theater, Mercy Street Theatre, 20% Theatre Company Chicago, Citadel Theatre Company, and Theater Cedar Rapids. In October of 2016, he became the educator apprentice for Compass Creative Dramatics (or CCD), a company focused on creating arts enrichment experiences for students and empowering them to be brave and creative through a variety of workshops, camps, and residencies. He has since moved through the apprenticeship program to become an adept teaching artist as well as a CCD Program Associate. In addition to the year-round educational touring and administrative work he does with CCD, he is also a teaching artist for Emerald City Theatre. He loves collaborating on new works and delving into characters that challenge his point of view and cultural perspective. Currently he’s on tour with CCD, bringing their version of Peter Pan to youth across the country!
