Andrew Clancey is an actor, cellist, and teaching artist based in Chicago. Since receiving his BA in Theatre Arts, he has primarily been performing on stage both in Iowa and the Chicagoland area. In October of 2016, after spending the previous summer teaching theatre classes at Clarendon Park, he became the teaching apprentice for Compass Creative Dramatics, a company focused on creating arts enrichment experiences for students and empowering them to be brave and creative through a variety of workshops, camps, and residencies. He loves collaborating on new works and delving into characters that challenge his point of view and cultural perspective. Recently, he appeared as Joel in Jest a Second with Oil Lamp Theatre and as Man 2 in Now. Here. This. at Theatre Cedar Rapids. He’s looking forward to playing Dad in Merry Christmas, Mulch Pile! this December with Mercy Street Theatre and playing cello as part of the pit orchestra in an independent production of La Finta Giardiniera in early February 2017.
